Saturday
13th May 2017 saw the return of the Scottish Goodwill Championships to our
Taekwondo-UK calendar of events.
This event hasn't taken place for a few years and we were all very much
looking forward to its return.
A
team of 21 competitors from across the Trident Group as well as several coaches
and umpires travelled up to Edinburgh to take part and support the event. Most of the group were staying together
in a hotel in Dunfermline and we all enjoyed taking the time to relax and
socialise together on the Friday night when we arrived before the busy day we
had ahead of us on the Saturday and celebrated together on the Saturday night
after the competition was over. |

Izzy Brider travelled over to Finland for her first senior event after having a brilliant last year as a junior in 2015 becoming European and World Champion at patterns.
I am very happy to report that Izzy won a bronze medal in individual sparring and was a member of the England sparring team who won a silver medal.

ITF World Championships, Jesolo
Italy
Romy Mottershead and Izzy Brider from the Trident TKD Academy
represented ITF England at the 19 Senior and 13
Junior ITF World Championships that took place in Jesolo Italy between the 27-31
May 2015. The Championships
attracted 1019 competitors from 53 countries comprising 586 seniors and 433
juniors. ITF England took a large
contingent of 79 competitors, coaches, officials, umpires and spectators. At the outset I place on record thanks
to the organising committee and all the umpires and officials that allowed for
well-organised and friendly Championships. |
